16 August to six October 2024 at Kolaj Institute Gallery. Made within the months main as much as the artist’s fortieth birthday, “Superior Wound Therapeutic Methods” is a group of collage made with private pictures that have been destroyed in a sequence of fires that befell when artist Robbie Morgan was 24 years previous. Within the intervening sixteen years, the artist carted round these pictures, shifting them from residence to residence, storing them, sometimes reflecting on them. The collages communicate to trauma, destruction, reminiscence and the way, as we age, we make sense of issues. The artist wrote, “The collective assemblage allowed me to hook up with these reminiscences in a approach that I wouldn’t have in any other case been capable of if I hadn’t made this work.” Learn Extra
