Doodlebug Design Inc Weblog: HEY PUMPKIN HALLOWEEN WHIMSY CARDS

Hey Everybody I’m again! Jenn Shurkus right here from Artistic Chick Co.
and a self-proclaimed Doodlebug Addict. I really like every part they launch and was
so excited to be invited to visitor design. I’ve one other two playing cards to share
with you the place I had numerous enjoyable mixing a bunch of merchandise from the brand new Hey
Pumpkin launch!

I began by stamping out the cat in a pumpkin tote picture and the
ghost from the Hey Pumpkin Doodle Stamps and coloring them in with Copic
markers that are alcohol-based markers (sharing beneath the precise markers I
used). I die-cut it out with the coordinating Doodle Cuts.

For the primary card, I began by water coloring a purple
background utilizing Misery Watercolor Pencils, and Misery Watercolor
Cardstock. I dried this background, after which trimmed this it right down to 4” x
5.25”.  I matted it onto a bit of
patterned paper from the Hey Pumpkin 6×6 paper pad.

For the feelings, I selected a couple of speech bubble die-cuts from the
Hey Pumpkin Chit Chat Ephemera Pack. I additionally white embossed “Pleased” from the Hey
Pumpkin stamp set onto black cardstock. Every time I do ANY embossing, I prep the
floor utilizing the Cottontail
Embossing Powder Instrument
. I additionally like to make use of a white pigment ink
when I’m embossing with white embossing powder.

Subsequent, I die-cut the “Halloween” phrase included within the Hey Pumpkin
coordinating Doodle Cuts a number of instances out of black cardstock, and as soon as out of
black sparkle cardstock. I adhered them stacked along with moist glue.

I added some Prisma Glitter to the highlights of the pumpkin with
a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen. I additionally added some Sakura Black Glaze Pen to the eyes
of the cat, and the eyes and mouth to the pumpkin.

I added the feelings, pumpkin and speech bubbles to the cardboard
with black foam squares. I then sprinkled a couple of stars I lower out with the Hey
Pumpkin Doodle Cuts out of black sparkle cardstock. Lastly, I added a
puffy bat from the Puffy Icons Sticker sheet.

For the second card I trimmed down the Homespun 12×12 Acetate
sheet to 4.25” x 5.5”. I additionally die-cut a stitched body out of black sparkle
cardstock. I used moist adhesive to stick the body to the entrance of the acetate
panel.

I then ink blended a background onto a bit of Misery White
Heavystock with the next Misery Inks: Mustard Seed, Festive Berries,
Wilted Violet. Subsequent, I splattered some stars” with Gansai Tambi Starry
Colours palette.

I flipped the framed acetate panel over, and added 2 layers of
foam strips round all 4 sides. I then sprinkled some Hey Pumpkin Halloween
Evening Shakers into the area. I additionally added some iridescent sequins. I then
peeled the backer paper off the froth strips and adhered the ink blended
background to them making a shaker entrance.

I added some Prisma Glitter to the highlights on the ghost, and
“BOO” banner with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen. I added some Sakura Black Glaze
Pen to the center and star within the speech bubbles.

I selected a sentiment banner and a few speech bubbles out of the Hey
Pumpkin Chit Chat Ephemera Pack.

I added the sentiment banner to the cardboard entrance with moist glue. I
added the ghost and speech bubbles with black foam squares.

I sprinkled some sweet stickers from the Puffy Icons Sticker
sheet, and a few stars from the October Sky Form Sprinkles. Lastly I added some
shiny accents to the glasses on the ghost.

I’m sharing the swatches of the
Copic colours I used to paint the photographs above so you possibly can simply recreate them
with the coloring medium you select.  If
you wish to be taught extra about coloring with Copic markers or alcohol-based
markers, make sure to take a look at my Copic
101 on-line class
, which features a workbook!

If these playing cards have impressed you to
create together with your Doodlebug Halloween stash I might like to see what you create!
