The decision for entries for this 12 months’s e-merge exhibition opened in October 2009. Entrants submitted work by an internet software service till the deadline of December 7, 2009.
This 12 months’s competitors attracted greater than 300 entrants from twenty-five international locations. In early January, a panel of three jurors undertook the large process of choosing a bunch of finalists by reviewing over 2000 digital pictures. Along with pictures, the jurors have been in a position to view the entrants’ names, the titles and dimensions of their artworks, and the strategies used to create the artworks.
The three jurors for this 12 months’s competitors have been Kate Elliott, Michael Rogers, and Jeff Wallin. They carried out their duties with nice professionalism, collegiality and care, evaluating every artist for excellence of expertise, design, and creativity. After choosing the group of finalists, the jurors selected one piece of paintings by every finalist to be included within the exhibition. In late March, as soon as the chosen items had been put in, the jurors gathered to evaluate the assembled work and to decide on the class award winners. We want to thank the jurors for serving to to make e-merge 2010 an inspiring assortment that displays the excessive requirements of in the present day’s artist working in kiln-glass. And we want to encourage entrants who didn’t qualify as finalists this 12 months to proceed their efforts to make good work.
This 12 months, for the primary time ever, the e-merge exhibition was mounted at Bullseye Gallery. We wish to thank everybody who attended the e-merge 2010 opening reception—for supporting the artists and the exhibition and for choosing the winner of the Fashionable Award.
