Montreal-based collagist Emmanuel Laflamme writes, “Combining cultural references, I mix historic and fashionable myths to share my perspective on the world, directly tender and significant. The absurd is my playground and anachronism is my specialty.” Throughout his residency, Laflamme will create a brand new collection of collages that push his boundaries and deal with growing a greater understanding of his personal creative follow. He’ll meet with New Orleanians and accumulate supplies domestically, working from what he finds. He’ll search inspiration in archives and native historical past museums.
