RESIDENCY UPDATE

Poetry & Collage Residency December 2024

In December and early January, Kolaj Institute Coordinator Christopher Kurts led the third iteration of the Collage & Poetry residency and guided 11 artists from Bangladesh, Turkey and the US in collaborative actions, analysis and dialogue, and understanding the technical wants of design and structure essential to submit web page spreads to PoetryXCollage. Ric Kasini Kadour spoke about artist apply, the ebook as a spot for collage, and the way Kolaj Institute works to diffuse collage and poetry. Rod T. Boyer creates artwork and poetry below the moniker our thomas, exploring themes of redemption, thriller, and transformation. In Kolaj #32, his article, “Thoughts the Hole,” explored how collage and haiku share related mechanisms of juxtaposition and disjunction. He spoke to those themes in the course of the residency.
