Adhesions
On the College of Warsaw Library Gallery in Warsaw, Poland by 19 January 2025. “Adhesions: Worldwide Exhibition of Collage in Artbooks and Artzines” showcases a broad spectrum of collage methods utilized by artists working in ebook artwork, zines, and visible poetry. It introduces the viewers to the work of artists from around the globe–from Japan, by Germany and Portugal, to Latin America. A various vary of personalities is represented, drawing from a wealthy array of influences: from native creative traditions, by Dadaist experiments within the spirit of Kurt Schwitters, to modern impartial publications in grunge type. Practically 200 objects are on show within the gallery, together with unique, hand-crafted collages, artwork zines, artwork books, and digital collages. Work is by thirty-five artists from fourteen nations and twelve impartial publishers. Kolaj Journal, a full colour, print journal, exists to point out how the world of collage is wealthy, layered, and thick with complexity. By remixing historical past and tradition, collage artists forge new pondering. To know collage is to reshape one’s pondering of artwork historical past and redefine the canon of visible tradition that informs the current.
