Melbourne2024: Outing to Colac – Liz Metal : Liz Metal

Getting again to sketches from my current Melbourne journey…

My pal E took me on a second outing – this time in the direction of Colac by way of a number of small historic nation cities. Today jogged my memory numerous my epic street journey again in 2021 (see right here for all of the articles on this 6-week journey!)

It was an exquisite day to be driving by the countryside – the climate stored altering from vivid solar to passing showers. So dramatic! Fortunately it didn’t rain once we have been out of the automobile.

Here’s a map that reveals Colac and likewise the opposite locations I visited throughout my time in Melbourne.

The primary cease was Inverleigh, and I managed to sketch out a restaurant that described the primary parts of the city. (On the backside of this text, you will note my rushed tea and muffin (half) that I sketched.)

I like driving by the countryside and it was significantly fulfilling on this event as a result of altering climate.

Watching a bathe of rain come in the direction of us…

… after which the following minute, it was sunny once more.

The subsequent city was Wichelsea – we didn’t cease, so I didn’t do a sketch of it.

Shortly after that, we arrived at Colac, and the primary cease was the lake.

A fast sketch of a tree with attention-grabbing gum nuts (they have been a lot bigger than regular – see the web page under for my lifesize drawings of them).

A stroll down the primary road on the lookout for someplace to have lunch…

and a view from our lunch spot of the spectacular Struggle Memorial.

On the drive dwelling I did a number of quite simple sketches recording the countryside.

I needed I had performed this within the morning because the drive dwelling wasn’t as attention-grabbing.

Again dwelling and one other roast dinner! Yum – what a technique to end an awesome day!

And listed here are the total spreads from the outing.
