PMQ2024: The final two days

It’s lastly time to wrap up this collection containing all my sketches from my 2-week journey to Port Macquarie final November. So right here goes…

The final go to to Shelly Seashore was not what I hoped for. A scorching and sticky morning with salty fog! Not nice in any respect. I began this sketch with some purple shapes after which layered over some oil pastel.

I then met up with my buddy V for brunch at Banks and sketched a ship. (I used to be taking part in with opacity as I sketched the meals!)

We then sat by the river and talked for 1.5 hours. I did this sketch nearly fully with Poscas. The one watercolour used was for the gray water. I used to be having a number of enjoyable creating texture with Poscas!

I had just a little time to begin packing after which visited Flynns Seashore for the final time. I didn’t full this sketch, however I prefer it as it’s (and it’s a good reminder of the steps I used to be taking!).

Dinner at V’s after which I sketched a few of her teacups. It was an especially humid night and my watercolours weren’t drying!

I usually prefer to hit the street early when I’ve a 4-hour drive forward of me, however I didn’t need to say goodbye to V, so we had yet one more cafe go to collectively.

As soon as once more, I ended at Bulahdelah and went for a little bit of a stroll. Two fast sketches and a discovery of a ‘new’ approach proper on the finish of my journey. I’ve been utilizing this method in my on a regular basis sketches since I got here residence and will probably be speaking about it throughout the first livestream (this week) inside my new Sketching Journey Group on Patreon. I’ve additionally filmed an in depth sketchbook tour of all my pages from this journey, which is obtainable contained in the neighborhood.

Thanks for coming together with me on this very particular break at Port Macquarie. I hope you’ve got loved seeing all my enjoyable experiments and sketches of all these lovely Port seashores. See all of them right here.
